FAMILIER SOM VORES (FAMILIES LIKE OURS) (EP. 1 – 7)

With Amaryllis August, Albert Rudbeck Lindhardt, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Paprika Steen, Helene Reingaard Neumann, Magnus Millang
In the not-too-distant future, rising water levels will force the Danish government to evacuate the country. People say goodbye to what they love and who they are. The change is slow. Those who can afford it travel to rich countries, while the less affluent depend on the government and move to more problematic destinations. Families, friendships and loved ones are separated. At this juncture, we make the acquaintance of Laura, a high school student on the verge of graduation who has fallen in love for the first time. When news of the evacuation spreads, Laura and her family’s lives change forever. ‘I thought of this series as an epic family saga inspired by the great European stories of emigration, with an echo of the songs and melancholic tales of yesteryear, when parts of Europe emigrated to America,’ admitted the director.’ At worst, a glimpse of the future. At best, it is an expression of our everyday fears and a reflection of what we all wish we could keep’.
