world premiere

France, 2039: a group of activists hunted by the government disappears. One of them, Julia, wakes up a prisoner of an unknown world. This is the story of Planet B (Planète B), the second fiction feature film by Aude Léa Rapin (Heroes Don’t Die) and the opening (out of competition) of the 39th International Film Critics’ Week (autonomous and parallel section organised by the National Union of Italian Film Critics – SNCCI within the framework of the Venice Film Festival). Planet B, summarise the General Delegate and Artistic Director Beatrice Fiorentino, records ‘the rising temperature of a society that is increasingly in a state of distress‘. As in this dystopia where, Fiorentino continues, one questions ‘the ethical principles that will govern our lives. Rapin looks back at the cinema of Carpenter, Cameron, and Shyamalan, with an unmistakable ‘French Touch”. The SIC@SIC shorts program starts with two special events out of competition, Dark Globe by Donato Sansone and The Eggregores’ Theory by Andrea Gatopoulos.
