Se possa essere un Pesce d’Aprile o meno lo scopriremo presto, ma per ora l’anticipazione del solito InSneider è stata ripresa da testate come Deadline e Variety, perciò come dubitare che Sydney Sweeney sia davvero in trattative per recitare nel prossimo adattamento del leggendario Gundam? Un progetto che attende dal 2021 e che potrebbe finalmente aver trovato la chiave per procedere verso la produzione definitiva.

Quello della Legendary, che da tempo progetta questo live-action dello sci-fi giapponese, sviluppato insieme a Bandai Namco Filmworks, dovrebbe entrare in lavorazione nel corso dello stesso 2025, stando all’esperto Jeff Snider. Secondo il quale a scriverlo e dirigerlo sarebbe lo showrunner di Sweet Tooth, il Jim Mickle di Cold in July, anche produttore del progetto (insieme a Linda Moran, attraverso la loro società, Nightshade).
Ovviamente non ci sono ancora dettagli sul ruolo che dovrebbe interpretare la Sweeney né sulla trama del film, almeno fino a che i rappresentanti della produzione non rilasceranno dichiarazioni ufficiali o commenti alle voci che circolano.

Pioniere del sottogenere fantascientifico noto come “mecha”, che ruota attorno a giganteschi robot da combattimento, dal Gundam creato da Yoshiyuki Tomino si è sviluppato un franchise che ha preso il via con la serie anime Mobile Suit Gundam nel 1979 e che proprio in questi giorni continua sulla piattaforma di streaming di Amazon con la prima stagione del Mobile Suit Gundam Gquuuuuux (Kidô Senshi Gandamu Jîkuakusu)
La serie originale è ambientata in un futuro lontano, nel cosiddetto Secolo Universale (o Universal Century), con le colonie umane dello spazio in lotta per l’indipendenza dalla Terra grazie ai robot giganti Mobile Suit.
